Melanie is a holistic health practitioner in the Boston area who works primarily with herbs, nutrition, healing movement, flower essences, cutting edge natural supplements, guided meditation, breathing, and spiritual chanting. Her methods are based on Chinese, Western, Ayurvedic, and Native American healing traditions.

She provides custom herbal blends made from organic and ethically wild crafted herbs. Only the highest quality materials are used in the process from start to finish, ensuring you with superior quality herbal medicine.

Complete sessions are $125 and you will walk away with a 2 oz herbal tincture, a flower essence blend and a healing tea, or whatever it is that you need. I usually recommend that you work with these chosen herbs for 1-3 months. Follow up appointments are $50 plus the cost of herbs that you need. Discounts are available for senior citizens, students, and low income individuals, so please inquire about my sliding scale fees.

Melanie's Bio...

For over 10 years now I've been studying the impact that whole foods and medicinal herbs have on restoring health and vibrancy to our bodies. But it wasn't until 2002 that I felt the strong pull to become a holistic health practitioner. After travelling to India to study music, I contracted a severe case of amoebic dysentery, among other infections. Dr.'s didn't know how to cure me. My condition persisted. I finally realized that if I was to get better, I'd have to do it myself. It was time to put what I had learned to use. Within a period of 4 months I was able to kill the parasites and then later tackled the challenge of restoring my digestive health (which had been greatly disrupted by both the parasites and the antibiotics). All in all, it took a few years to heal completely. During that time I was working in a health food store where I became a sponge for healing knowledge. Customers would come visit me and the information would pour out. Many customers would return to thank me for steering them in the right direction or leading them to the right products. And though I was only 24, some would return with a family member or a friend in hopes that I'd have some answers for them too, whether it was health related or spiritual. I realized that I was really going above and beyond the call of duty as a retail clerk, and that if I truly wanted to be of service, I'd have to get certified in herbs and nutrition. And so I did, and the rest is history. I am now a certified herbalist and nutritionist, receiving certificates from the Global College of Natural Medicine and the Boston School of Herbal Studies. I attend master classes, clinics, workshops, and symposiums, and have had the great privilege of studying with teachers such as Madelon Hope, Tommy Priester, Matthew Wood, Phyllis Light, Stephen Harrod Buhner, David Winston, Kenwood Dennard and Kurt Leland. Rose Bear Medicinals is the name of my healing practice; Rose being my middle name, and Bear being my totem animal. A part Cherokee friend granted me the name RoseBear, and so it has stuck. I am currently teaching classes at the Boston School of Herbal Studies, leading 7 month long apprenticeships, and holding a class in West Roxbury, MA once a month.
